Help for Portugal should be taken positively by the Finnish


Thursday, a European Union official said that Finland should take positive attitude towards assistance to Portugal. Economic and monetary affairs commissioner of the European Union namely Olli Rehn commented on the daily Helsingin Sanomat that Finland is expected to take a positive attitude to help Portugal. Olli Rehn added that the Finnish fear it would derail the bailout to Portugal because of the euro -skeptic parties Correct Finland has scored big gains in parliamentary elections last week.

Rehn said that there is the possibility of Finland will be out of the deal assistance to Portugal so that countries other euro zone will apply the alternative package. Thus, the mechanism of the bailout could be ready in time to raise funds from the market. He also hoped that the new parliament can make decisions that concern the whole of Finland.

Finnish prime minister the possibility that the next Finance Minister Jyrki Katainen is expected that will represent Finland at the meeting of EU finance ministers in Brussels’ in May. Thus, Finland can make decisions that are expected to be positive about assistance to Portugal.
